The Bride's Story
The first time I met Raoul was in 2003. The thing that I immediatly noticed was that he was a very funny guy and very social. I was living in Holland back then, and every time I was on the island I would run into him. I knew he was from Curacao, "single" and very charming. But it was 'till 2005 that I began seeing him more than just a charming guy. He asked me my cell number and joked he was gonna call. The next day he sent a message (to check if I was going out) and two days later he called me. He had the same humor as I did, he was as crazy as I was, so he was very easy to talk to. We talked for hours. (We still do.. hahha) A few days later he asked me out. For our first date we went to Smokey Joey's (instead of the cinema, yak!!! hahahhaha) I had a great time, and for the first time I noticed that he had the most beautifull green eyes. The next day he sent me a bouquet of roses telling me he had a wonderfull time. I thought he was a very nice guy and he made me very curious of what he would say or do next. Two days later he kissed me, and so our relationship began. Two weeks later he flew me to Curacao to meet his friends. I was having a wonderfull time with him and as weeks passed by I noticed I was falling for the guy. In the beginning I wasn't certain I wanted a serious relationship. I was just beginning my life here in Aruba, and having a boyfriend was not on my list. But the way he spoke to me, looked at me, touched me and made me laugh was one of a kind. Nobody could make me laugh so much like Raoul did, and still does! Three months later we found out I was pregnant. It was a shocking news, especially because we were still getting to know each other, partying and having the time of our lives. But together we decided that we wanted to have this baby and even though we knew this was going to change our lives completly and forever, somehow I wasn't afraid. Raoul has a very strong personality, and I felt safe with him. This sounds very cheesy, but I knew I found my soulmate. Last year in october he asked me to marry him. Without a doubt I said yes. Of course I'm gonna marry him. We're so right for each other. I have this beautifull baby boy with the man I love. I consider myself a very lucky woman!!!
